You Are Special! And, Yes, It Is a Wonderful Life

You are Special!

Do you ever feel like no matter what you do, it doesn’t really make a difference? I’ve been there.

For many years, in fact. I poured out my efforts for my family, for the Lord, for the people around me, and I still wondered if any of it mattered.

But somewhere along the way, God began to whisper a truth I had overlooked for far too long:
One life makes a difference.

And that life is yours.

As we continue preparing our hearts and homes for the holidays, I want to pause and remind you of something deeper than gift lists, chores, or Christmas traditions. Before you check off one more task, before you bake one more dish or hang one more decoration, hear this:

You matter.

Your presence matters.
Your efforts matter.
Your prayers matter.
Your kindness matters.
Your faithfulness, especially the unseen kind, matters most of all.

Sometimes we think our impact has to be big, loud, or impressive. But God often works through steady, quiet faithfulness. Through the little things we do with love. Through the moments we show up even when we’re tired. Through the conversations we have with our children. Through the prayers we whisper over our homes. Through the choices we make to honor Him, even when no one notices.

During this season, when the world shouts for more spending, more busyness, more pressure, God invites us to remember who we are in Him.

And who we are is this:

Chosen. Loved. Significant. Special.

Not because of what we accomplish, but because of the God who created us with purpose.

When we remember that truth, even the smallest acts become meaningful. Hanging stockings becomes ministry. Setting the table becomes hospitality. A handwritten card becomes encouragement. A simple prayer becomes spiritual impact.

This week, as you take another small step toward preparing for Christmas, don’t lose sight of the One who gave your life value in the first place. And don’t underestimate how your life, with all its imperfections and all its ordinary moments, is making a difference in ways you may never fully see this side of heaven.

You are special.

You matter.

And yes, it truly is a wonderful life when you see it through God’s eyes.

Let’s Pray

Lord, thank You for reminding us that our lives matter deeply to You. When we feel discouraged or insignificant, help us remember that You created us with purpose and intention. Use our small steps, our daily faithfulness, and our ordinary moments to shine Your light. Fill us with peace and joy as we prepare for this season. Amen.
