Trusting God When Waiting Feels Long
Waiting can be one of the hardest parts of faith. It can actually feel painful when we are the one doing the waiting.
When a dream remains unfulfilled, not just for months but for years, it's easy to wonder if God has forgotten us. We may still believe He can do something, but deep down we begin to question whether He will
I spent many years believing my dream of marriage and family simply wasn't going to happen. There wasn't a specific moment when I gave up. It happened gradually. Life moved on. I learned how to function without expecting anything different.
What I didn't realize then was that God was still working.
Waiting seasons are rarely wasted. God uses them to shape our hearts, deepen our trust, and prepare us for what we cannot yet see. Often, the work He is doing in us matters just as much as the work he will one day do for us.
God's Timing is Always on Time!
Waiting taught me to pray differently, not just for what I wanted but for God's will to be done. it taught me to listen more closely, to surrender control, and to trust that His timing was not careless.
Psalm 27:14 tells us to "wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart." That kind of waiting is not passive. It is active trust. It's choosing to believe that God's silence is not absence, and that His delay is not denial.
While You're Waiting
If you are in a season of waiting today, I want to encourage you: God has not forgotten you. Your prayers still matter. Your dream is still known to Him.
Call to Action
This week, instead of focusing on what hasn't happened yet, I invite you to turn your attention outward. Choose one person to pray for intentionally this month. Ask God to show you how to pray; not to fix them but to love them.
Sometimes God meets us in the waiting by teaching us how to intercede for others.
A Closing Prayer
Lord, waiting is hard. Help me trust You when answers seem delayed. Teach me to rely on Your timing, not my own. Strengthen my heart as I wait on You. Amen.
