God Often Works Through Your Obedience

Sometimes we assume God fulfills dreams by changing our circumstances. But often, He begins by changing us.

In seasons when our own dreams feel delayed or uncertain, God may be inviting us to participate in His work through obedience, like quiet, faithful acts of love that seem small but matter deeply to Him.

Scripture reminds us, “So let's

not get tired of doing what is good.

At just the right time we will reap a

harvest of blessing if we do not give up”

Galatians 6:9 NLT

Looking back, I can see that some of the most meaningful blessings in my life came not through answered prayers but through obedience I didn’t realize mattered at the time: Loving others. Showing up. Saying yes when it would have been easier to stay comfortable.

Before my dream was fulfilled in ways I never imagined, God was already enlarging my heart. He was teaching me that family is formed through love, faithfulness, and presence; not just biology or plans fulfilled on schedule.

Obedience doesn’t earn us blessings. But it does place us where God is already at work.

Jesus reminds us in Matthew 25 that when we serve others -- when we feed, welcome, comfort, and care -- we are serving Him.

Sometimes the path forward isn’t clearer answers, but deeper love.

If your dream feels distant today, don’t underestimate what God can do through your obedience right where you are. A phone call. A meal. A kind word. A willingness to step outside yourself. God often meets us there.

Choose one small act of love:

• Write a note of encouragement

• Take a meal to someone in need

• Offer to help a family with children

• Look for a simple way to serve

Do it quietly. Do it faithfully. And trust that God sees.

Prayer

Lord, help me remain faithful in small acts of obedience. Use my willingness to love others as part of Your greater work. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
