Faithfulness in Small Acts

Sometimes God works less through changed circumstances and more through changed hearts.

That can be hard to accept when we’re praying for something specific: a breakthrough, a healing, a restored relationship, a dream that finally comes to life.

But often, the Lord does something quieter first.

He changes us.

This week’s reflection is about obedience: small, faithful acts of love that God uses in ways we may never fully see.

Because the truth is, not every season will come with immediate results. Not every prayer will be answered quickly. Not every dream will unfold on our timeline.

Scripture gives us steady encouragement:

“So let's not get tired of doing

what is good. At just the right

time we will reap a harvest of

blessing if we don't give up.”

Galatians 6:9 NLT

That verse doesn’t promise instant outcomes. It promises that our faithfulness matters.

Sometimes the “harvest” we’re waiting for begins as a seed we can’t even see yet.

Small obedience might not feel connected to our dream, but God often uses it as part of His bigger story.

A kind word spoken at the right moment.
A meal dropped off quietly.
A phone call that makes someone feel remembered.
A note that tells someone, “You’re not alone.”

These are not “little things” to God. They are sacred offerings.

Sometimes, the most powerful way we keep dreaming, especially when our hearts feel tired, is by staying faithful in what is right in front of us.

This Week's Invitation

Choose one small act of love:

• Write a note of encouragement

• Take a meal to someone who’s overwhelmed

• Call a friend you’ve been meaning to check on

• Offer help to a neighbor

• Pray intentionally for one person all week

Do it simply, quietly, and with love.

Obedience in small acts is often how God strengthens our hearts while we wait for Him to move.

May you be encouraged this week as you serve Him right where you are.

Prayer

Lord, help me not grow weary in doing good.
Give me eyes to see the opportunities You place in front of me, and a willing heart to obey in small ways. Use my simple acts of love to bless others and to shape me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
